Meet William S. Blood, D.D.S., M.D.
William S. Blood received his Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. He graduated with honors from Case Western Reserve University earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. He then entered and completed his Residency in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Blood continued his training in oral & maxillofacial surgery at Leed’s General Infirmary / St. James University Hospital in Yorkshire U.K. He also did a cleft lip and palate fellowship in Toluca, Mexico. He then went on to finish his Doctor of Medicine Degree at Case Western Reserve University and his General Surgery Internship at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Blood joined the private practice at North Coast Jaw & Implant Center with Dr. Blakemore in 1991.
Maintaining active involvement in all levels of dentistry, Dr. Blood is on the staff at Fairview Hospital, St. John West Shore Hospital, University Hosptials and The Surgery Center. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve University Dental School. In conjuction with Dr. Blakemore, Dr. Blood was instrumental in beginning the Implant Study Club for their region.

Dr. Blood is board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. To stay current in his field, Dr. Blood attends several continuing education courses yearly on dental implants and oral surgery. Dr. Blood provides a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgical services with emphasis on dental implants, bone grafting, dento-alveolar surgery, wisdom teeth removal, general anesthesia, intravenous sedation, facial trauma and pathology. He finds especially rewarding the orthognathic and reconstructive jaw surgery practice he has developed in this area.
Dr. Blood grew up in Titusville, Pennsylvania, where he is remembered in the Titusville Athletic Hall of Fame. He currently lives in Westlake with his wife, Michelle, and their five children. In his free time, Dr. Blood enjoys playing golf and keeping physically fit. Dr. Blood truly loves his profession and his involvement with organized Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is able to provide necessary services to patients to improve their quality of life and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient services in a caring environment.
