Welcome to North Coast Jaw & Implant Center
Introduction
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is recognized internationally as a surgical specialty. It is a form of dentistry that treats a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects around the head, neck, face and jaw. Most common oral and maxillofacial services include extraction of teeth (including moderate to difficult wisdom teeth), reconstructive dental oral surgery and placing dental implants. The doctors also are proficient in techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. All the doctors are skilled at diagnosing and treating oral lesions, injuries and fractures.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after completion of an undergraduate college degree and graduation from a four-year dental school. Dr. William Blood and Dr. Raymond Plona have also completed extra years in general medicine and general surgery training and carry Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) licensure with the State of Ohio.
The surgical staff at North Coast Jaw & Implant Center are experienced, competent and skilled oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants. They are also trained in assisting with intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art setting.
All front staff employees are informed administrative personnel, well-trained in our practice policies and insurance claim submission.
Both the clinical and administrative staff at North Coast Jaw & Implant Center are certified in CPR, and the doctors are also certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
